ANALYSIS - Denotations and connotations

                     Denotation From this picture, I can see that the advert portrays a young boy in ruffled clothing , seemingly sad, standing Infront of what looks like a small village and the advert quotes " dig toilets, not graves". Connotations I connote that the ' young boy in ruffled clothing' shows that he is living his life in poverty which can make the audience feel sympathetic. the boy's saddened expression tells us that he is struggling without water. this is also shown in the tagline where it says    " dig toilets, not graves" which can alarm the audience of the conditions he's living in , creating a sense of urgency and encouraging them to make more donations.
